Project overview

Philips Baristina is a high-end espresso machine designed for a café-quality coffee experience at home. The online showcase needed to reflect premium quality, featuring rich media, engaging interactions, and seamless performance across Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Austria. My role spanned UX validation, technical feasibility assessment, and front-end design handover, ensuring a scalable and high-performance digital experience.

Design Challenges & Solutions

  1. Media-Rich Website Performance Across Multiple Markets

    • Challenge: High-resolution visuals and interactive elements risked affecting website speed and performance.

    • Solution: Optimized assets, ensured lightweight yet high-quality media delivery, and worked closely with developers to balance performance with aesthetics.

  2. Technical Feasibility & UX Validation

    • Challenge: Ensuring design feasibility within existing technical constraints while maintaining premium aesthetics.

    • Solution: Provided ongoing technical feedback, collaborated with designers on adjustments, and validated designs before development to prevent rework.

  3. Seamless Design Handover & Implementation

    • Challenge: Maintaining design consistency while transitioning from UX to development.

    • Solution: Created detailed documentation, refined Design Language System (DLS) components, and worked closely with developers to resolve UI/UX issues.

  4. Accessibility Compliance

    • Challenge: Meeting WCAG standards while keeping visually appealing and intuitive interactions.

    • Solution: Ensured color contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility, refining interactions to be both engaging and accessible.
